Privacy Policy

Version of 28 October 2026

1. Controller and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with the website internationallawyerbrazil.com and with contacts addressed to the office through the channels published on it. The controller is MF EJCHEL INTERNATIONAL FAMILY LAW (the name used by the firm), a law firm enrolled in the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ) under no. 01.367.208/0001-06, with its office at Avenida Marquês de São Vicente, 446, unit 706, Barra Funda, São Paulo, Brazil, ZIP 01139-000, and operating under the name MF Ejchel International Family Law.

The processing is governed by Brazilian Law No. 13,709/2018 (General Data Protection Law, LGPD) and, in the cases described in section 9, by the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union. The MF Ejchel Data Monitor application has its own privacy policy.

2. Data processed

Data provided by you: when you contact the office by e-mail or WhatsApp, the office processes the data you choose to send, such as your name, contact details, the countries involved, a description of the matter and any documents attached. Because the office practises family law, these communications may include data concerning children and adolescents and sensitive data, such as health information.

Browsing data: the website uses Google Analytics 4 to produce aggregated audience statistics, which involves cookies and data such as the pages visited, the date and time of access, the type of device and browser, the approximate location derived from the IP address and the source of the visit. The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which entails the transmission of the IP address to Google’s servers. The hosting provider keeps technical access records for security purposes.

The website has no contact form, does not use advertising tools and does not sell personal data.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Replying to enquiries and assessing a possible engagement: steps preliminary to a contract requested by the data subject (LGPD, article 7, V). Providing legal services and conducting proceedings: performance of the contract, compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and the regular exercise of rights in judicial, administrative or arbitral proceedings (article 7, II, V and VI). Sensitive data are processed for the regular exercise of rights (article 11, II, d), and data of children and adolescents are processed in their best interests (article 14).

Audience measurement and website security: legitimate interest of the controller (article 7, IX), limited to aggregated statistics and to the protection of the website, without the creation of individual profiles for advertising purposes.

4. Professional secrecy

Information received in the course of a consultation or engagement is protected by professional secrecy, which is a matter of public policy and continues after the end of the relationship, pursuant to article 7, XIX, of Law No. 8,906/1994 and articles 35 to 38 of the Brazilian Bar Association’s Code of Ethics and Discipline. The office does not send informative or promotional communications by e-mail without a prior request or authorisation from the recipient.

5. Cookies and how to object

Google Analytics cookies are used only for audience measurement. You may object to this processing by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Refusing these cookies does not affect access to the content of the website.

6. Sharing and international transfer

Personal data may be shared with service providers strictly necessary for the operation of the website and of the office (hosting, e-mail and messaging services and Google LLC, for audience statistics and fonts); with courts, central authorities and other public bodies, when required for the engagement or by law; and with lawyers in other jurisdictions engaged with the client’s knowledge. Google services may involve the transfer of data outside Brazil, which is carried out under the mechanisms provided for in article 33 of the LGPD.

7. Retention and security

Data relating to enquiries and engagements are kept for as long as necessary for the purposes described, for compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and for the regular exercise of rights, including during the applicable limitation periods. Google Analytics is configured to retain user-level and event-level data for 2 months; this setting does not govern standard aggregated reports. The office adopts technical and administrative measures appropriate to the nature of the data, while no transmission over the internet is entirely free of risk.

8. Your rights

Under article 18 of the LGPD, you may request confirmation of the existence of processing, access to your data, correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data, anonymisation, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, portability, information about sharing and, where processing is based on consent, its withdrawal. Requests should be sent to mauricio@advogasse.com.br, which serves as the office’s data protection communication channel. Some requests may be limited by professional secrecy or by legal retention obligations. You may also lodge a complaint with the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Users in the European Union and the United Kingdom

Where the office offers its services to persons in the European Union or the United Kingdom, those persons also have the rights provided for in the applicable data protection legislation, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Requests may be sent to the same channel indicated in section 8.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website, in the office’s practices or in the law. The date of the version in force is shown at the top of this page.
